Every 2 weeks or monthly: which schedule keeps a downtown condo actually clean

The honest answer for most one-person condos downtown is every 2 weeks. Not because it is the schedule with the discount, but because two weeks is roughly how long a kitchen and a bathroom stay fine before they stop being fine. Here is the reasoning, with the money.

What slips in two weeks

  • The bathroom: soap film on the glass, a ring in the toilet, hair on the floor. Two weeks is the edge; four weeks is a scrub.
  • The kitchen: the stovetop, the sink, the fronts of the appliances. Cooking a few nights a week gets it there in ten days.
  • Dust: downtown, near the Gardiner or the rail corridor, sills and screens show it within a week.
  • Floors: a dog or a long-haired cat makes this the first thing you notice; without pets it is the last.

What each schedule costs

Every 2 weeks: two Condo Cleans a month at C$135 each, C$270 before tax, C$305.10 with HST. Monthly: one Condo Clean at C$149, C$168.37 with HST. The fortnightly month costs about C$121 more before tax and buys a home that never gets far enough gone to need a longer block.

Monthly homes drift. After a few months a monthly visit tends to become an Extended Clean at C$179 because the buildup has crossed from ordinary to real, and the saving disappears into the longer block.

When monthly is right

A tidy single person in a studio who cooks rarely and has no pets: monthly works, especially with a 30-Minute Reset in between on a day Alex is already in the building. Someone who travels for work half the month: monthly, timed for the week they are home. A couple with a dog in a one-plus-den: every 2 weeks, without much debate.

Why the route matters

The fortnightly price exists because of building days. When several homes in the same building or pocket are cleaned on the same day, the travel disappears and the saving is passed on. That is also why the slot is easy to hold: same day, same time, every two weeks, and the visit becomes part of the routine rather than an appointment to manage.
